Thanks to the great effort of the volunteers, this EC Futsal ended successfully!

 

It was an incredibly hard week.....

First of all, the very attractive games of the eight finals began. Then some slack periods of the players followed.

During the last play day, the often overtired teams made an effort to show a good play. Unfortunately some teams made themselves the life heavy with inexact passings. Now a concentrated defensive work right to the end had top priority.

 

It sounded loud from the seats of the terraces : “Hup Holland or hopp Schwiiz etc.”and spured on the highly motivated team at the last day.

The powerful Russians demonstrated a final of a women’s team having a very high standard; no one was used to it. A cold shiver ran down my spine!!

 

Russia, the european champion and Ukraine as world champion started to play the final a little bit irritated. The Ukraine, a play-strong team agitated during the attack very efficiently.

At the final phase, the numerous spectators cheered again powerfully both of the teams, but the Russian couldn’t make up leeway. Therefore the Ukraine could save the lead and becames the winner. The cheers of the Ukrainians were immense.

 

Now the important presentation of prizes and medals with the cup took place.

Afterwards the final march with all the teams from Europe followed. A musical Swiss hymn was translated into the sign language. At the end the handing over of the EDSO flag to the Bulgarian delegation -  the organizer of the next EC Futsal in 2014 -, took place.

 

At the end of the celebration, several persons in a good mood went to the “Reithalle in Winterthur”. The perfectly conducted employee’s team in original Swiss shirts- and caps and the excellent cookery team of “Sichtbar Gehörlose Zürich” took care of the well-being with “Raclette”, a Swiss speciality from “Wallis” and a fine fungus rice!

 

Till late at night, people met at the bar.

With loud music translated into the sign language, a successful party found a happy end. With the best wishes for a good flight, the participants returned...
